Campus: On or OFF?

The time is near to decide on where to live (if you haven’t already). There are many benefits to living on campus or living off campus. Here are a few:

Benefits to Living ON Campus:

  1. You don’t have to drive to school and struggle to find a parking space
  2. Going to print something or study in the library is a quick walk away
  3. Housing is included on your tuition bill (one price to think about instead of monthly payments)
  4. All utilities are included
  5. Your friends live near you
  6. No shoveling/cutting grass
  7. RA’s and security are always there to help

Benefits to Living OFF Campus:

  1. You get away from school when you go home (have a sense of YOUR home)
  2. Cheaper housing (depending on the lease you sign)
  3. Can have as few or as many roommates as you like
  4. Can have pets (depending)
  5. No enforced quiet hours
  6. Learn basic house management skills
  7. Can stay in Duluth over breaks/summer (when campus is typically closed)
