I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Wildlife of Duluth

Duluth is known for being an outdoor city. It boasts beautiful views of nature all throughout the area. Nature here, however, does not just include Lake Superior, waterfalls, birch and pine filled forests. It also includes the animals that call these areas home, including this black bear that ran across Howard Gnesen road as I was driving last night. I thought he was going to go up and ring the doorbell at this home.

Just a friendly reminder that when out enjoying the outdoors (i.e. trails and parks of Duluth) to be aware of who and what you are sharing area with. With that said, go out and experience all that Duluth has to offer!

P.S. – This is the first black bear I’ve personally seen in the Duluth area and I’ve been here for over 5 years. So don’t stay in your dorm room all year – get out and explore!

As I was on my way out to a friend's house off of Howard Gnesen road in Duluth a large black bear scampered across the road and into the neighborhood.
