    Jesse's Bio:
I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Upper Division Writing Class

My upper division writing class is under way. I chose to take the course called Spiritual Living of the 21st Century, taught by Daniel Olsen who teaches it online through CSS. The class will be geared towards learning about our spirituality and how meditation can be an effective way of finding our true selves.

I’ve taken a few online classes and this one is fairly similar, however it requires a lot more reading and writing along with it. We are required to do weekly readings from two books, keep a journal of thoughts from one and post responses about passages from the other two. We will also be commenting on other students’ posts in order to have some sort of in-depth discussions on certain topics. Towards the end of the course we will be focusing on a research paper (I chose mine to be on the spirituality of St. Teresa of Avila). There will also be a few other papers due that are reflections of certain topics from the readings.

All in all it looks like it will be a great class filled with some intellectual and spiritual growth! I’d say that s getting your moneys worth!

Here is my set up at home of the materials I'm using for my class. The two books we are currently reading, the syllabus, my macbook for further research, and my notebook for taking notes on certain passages.
