The Depot – All Aboard!

This past weekend I spent some time with my girlfriend’s grandparents. It certainly was nice meeting more of her family and getting to know a litle more about where she comes from. During her grandparents stay we decided to kill some time by heading down to the Depot and touring around.

I can’t remember the last time I was there but I know I was there when I was about 6 or 7 because of photographs. My aunt and uncle took my brothers and I when we came up to Ashland, WI to visit. I knew there was a large Railroad museum but knew little about the rest of what the Depot had to offer.

When I went this past weekend we toured a portion of the Duluth Art Institute, the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center, as well as the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. There is so much history packed into that building it’s rather interesting. The Historical Duluth Depot is definitely worth checking out if you have the time or feel like doing something with a group fo friends…Quite a bit to learn!

If you get the chance when the weather is nice, you’ll have to jump aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad as it has one hour to day long tour rides!
