I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Superior Hiking Trail

Having lived in Duluth for over 5 years now, I have come to love the northland outdoors. In addition, I have also come to enjoy running in my spare time – I just completed my first full marathon this summer – Grandma’s 40th Anniversary Marathon in Duluth. With my first marathon under my belt and a craving for more I am signed up for my next one that is set for September 10th.

This second marathon is a 100% trail marathon and is run on a portion of the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). The SHT extends over 300 miles and goes through Duluth as it overlooks the northeastern portion of Minnesota, inlcuding Lake Superior for most of the trek. The marathon I am running in begins near Schroeder, MN and finishes in Lutsen, MN. The Moose Mountain Marathon is considered to be “hands down the most difficult and most scenic marathon in Minnesota and possibly the country”.

When in Duluth be sure to hop on the SHT for an afternoon hike, run, or walk. Check out the websites below to learn more about the SHT and look at some of the marathon information. Duluth was ranked #1 by Outside magazine as “The best outdoors town” in America. When you are here be sure to take advantage of the outdoor opportunities Duluth offers and see for yourself why we are #1!
