Hartley Biking Adventure
My roommate and I decided to hit the trails near Hartley Nature Center last week on our bikes. Kyle, my roommate, is a big mountain biker. You could say he knows what he’s doing. Me on the other hand…not so much. Thankfully Kyle showed me the ropes and we took it decently slow.
It was a beautiful day and we started our ride near Edison Kenwood Elementary School. We went in one of the trail heads there and into Hartley. We were probably 45 minutes in when I snapped the chain on my bike…crap! We tried to fix it on the trail but it didn’t work out. So Kyle busted it back to the car and I road my bike down the hills and ran it up the hills. Thankfully everytime I passed someone I was going down-hill and made it look like everything was ok!
I ended up meeting Kyle at the Hartley Nature Center as he pulled up with the car I was making it out of the trail…perfect timing.
Overall it was a really fun time. Yeah it stunk that my chain broke but hey we were out enjoying the great weather in Duluth. #turningnegativesintopositives

The little pond in Hartley Park where I decided to rest because not pedaling was tiring…

Oh great! Kind of hard to trail ride without a chain on your bike.

Bikes are off the car rack and we’re about to hit the trail!
