    Jesse's Bio:
I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and am now in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here at CSS. I played on the baseball team at CSS for four years. I was also a statistics tutor and currently work as personal care assistant in Duluth. I love the outdoors, hunting fishing, hiking, etc. While being at St. Scholastica I have noticed the “family” atmosphere and I am truly enjoying every second of it.

Grandma’s Marathon Training Update

Well folks it is coming up quickly – the 2016 Grandma’s Marathon is just 30 training days away. The marathon is set for Saturday June 18th beginning right outside of Two Harbors and ending in Canal Park – Duluth. If you are new to Duluth or want to get a good feel for what it is all about you should head to Duluth during Grandma’s marathon weekend. There is so much to do and people from all over running, touring, visiting, and just enjoying what Duluth has to offer. Check out this website for everything that goes on during  Grandma’s Marathon Weekend and click on Marathon weekend to check out this years entertainment.

I am running in it this year and I am currently on training week 26/30. Thankfully I have had some great motivators to run with over that time!

I can not stress enough how BIG of a deal Grandma’s Marathon is to the Duluth community and all of the attractions that it entails! Come up for the June 17-19th weekend and not only see, but experience what I am referring to!

A few of my running friends by the Canal Park lift bridge after an 11 mile training run. We are all in the PT program and have found a great outlet for our graduate academic stress! (from L to R: Steven Oczak, Peter Stanley, Jesse Heaton (me), and Risa Valentini).
