Alumni Weekend
The baseball program has its annual Alumni game the third weekend of the Saints Fall League. This year we did a little something different where the current team plays the alumni and then after the alumni play one another. It is a wonderful way to get our alumni involved in our program. It also helps the current team meet alumni and put faces to some of the greats in our program. Make no mistake, our alumni aren’t old and washed-up, some still compete and are very good. This year the alumni beat the current team in battle featuring a solo homerun by alumni Kyle Moody.
After the games a social was held in Storm’s Den followed by our Senior Awards banquet and Hall of Fame Induction. The awards are given to last year’s players – MVP, Rookie of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Academic Awards, etc. This year the baseball program inducted two standout athletes; Aiden Kummet and Sean Claugherty, both standout ball players and excellent people. The families and friends of current players, coaches, and alumni attended almost filling up the Somer’s Banquet Hall. Our baseball family is growing so large that we will soon have to find a new location – not a bad thing at all.
