Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My interests range from fishing and running to spending time in the chemistry labs with the professors. The Duluth area mixed with the professional and compassionate faculty and staff that make up St. Scholastica are, in my opinion, the perfect match up for an awesome college experience. I look forward to blogging about my future adventures!

How I chose CSS

About three years ago I was attempting to make the overwhelming decision of what college to go to. To be honest, CSS wasn’t even on my list. I grew up around the Rochester, MN area and was up in Duluth touring UMD (University of Minnesota Duluth). Now, I’m in no way shape or form bashing UMD (I have friends that are very happy with the school). But it just wasn’t the fit for me.

I new I wanted to go into a health focused field and was in the process of researching the dental field. My mom had told me that The College of Saint Scholastica was an excellent option considering my interest in the health related sciences.

After hearing this I called CSS and was able to schedule a tour before I had to head back home. I was given a tour and was able to sit down with the chair of the chemistry department, Dr. Paul Stein. I was amazed that a department chair would take time out of his day to sit down and talk with a potential student. After a period of time passed I had submitted my application and ended up being accepted.

Fast forward three years and I am going into my senior year as a Biochemistry student and Dr. Paul Stein is my academic advisor!
