    Jin's Bio:
Hi, there! I'm Jin, and I am a passionate, talkative, dessert fanatic. Poems, good books, coconut water, and action movies make me happy. If we ever meet in person, you'll definitely hear me before you see me. You'll want to ask how many energy drinks I've had, but the answer will always be zero.

Telephone Booths

Telephone booth in the 1st Floor Science hallway

Yes, CSS has telephone booths.

Actual telephone booths.

You can find them located sporadically around campus in the Tower and Science buildings. They’re little pieces of history (or telephone booth-sized pieces of history, I guess) that serve to remind us of the CSS that existed before wireless cellular devices and email correspondence changed our lives.

Can you imagine having to walk into a telephone booth and dialing a phone number that you had to memorize just so that you can make one phone call with a line of people waiting right outside of the booth? I can’t. Maybe people were more mindful about what they had to say on the phone when they had to sit inside of a booth.

I tried to take a selfie inside of the telephone booth in the Science hallway, but I couldn’t close the door of the booth and extend my arms out enough to take one. It’s a really tight space in there!

There is, in fact, a phone inside of the booth, and it definitely has a dial tone. Maybe one day I’ll call my mom from inside of the booth with the wired telephone to get a taste of history.
