Hi, there! I'm Jin, and I am a passionate, talkative, dessert fanatic. Poems, good books, coconut water, and action movies make me happy. If we ever meet in person, you'll definitely hear me before you see me. You'll want to ask how many energy drinks I've had, but the answer will always be zero.

Making the Best Omelette

Omelette station at GDR

At the Greenview Dining Room, there is an omelette station that is open all day and allows students to make their own omelettes for any meal they want. There are whole egg mixes and egg white mixes (for people who don’t like yolk, like me). They offer a variety of ingredients, like green and red peppers, sausage, diced ham, cheese, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, etc. It takes approximately 3 minutes to make an omelette, and the omelette maker will beep like an alarm clock in the morning when the omelette is done (so that you don’t have to stand around fiddling your fingers while you wait).

If you ask me, the best omelette is made with egg whites, tomatoes, cheese, green and red peppers, and mushrooms. The trick is to hold the cheese until the omelette is half cooked, then covering half of the omelette with the cheese and flipping the other half over it. This makes the cheese melt perfectly inside the omelette, and you don’t have to deal with burnt cheese on the edges (unless that floats your boat). Now you know how to make the perfect omelette…in theory.
