    Jin's Bio:
Hi, there! I'm Jin, and I am a passionate, talkative, dessert fanatic. Poems, good books, coconut water, and action movies make me happy. If we ever meet in person, you'll definitely hear me before you see me. You'll want to ask how many energy drinks I've had, but the answer will always be zero.

Hanukkah Night

Gold chocolate coins and dreidels at the Hanukkah Night at CSS

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion at CSS hosted a Hanukkah Night in the Student Union to celebrate the traditions surrounding the Jewish holiday. Everyone was invited to come celebrate regardless of religion or faith.

There was a story reading of a children’s book about Hanukkah so that people could learn about what the holiday was all about. Then, there was a performance of two Hanukkah songs. Afterwards, there were latkes, or potato pancakes, apple sauce, sour cream, and cookies to decorate. It was my first time trying a latke, and I ate it with both apple sauce and sour cream. It was really just like a potato-flavor-infused pancake. Apparently, there is a hot debate about if latkes are better with apple sauce or sour cream. I think it’s pretty good with both at the same time. No debate for me.

On a few of the tables, there were mounds of chocolate coins and dreidels to play with. Of course, being a sugar fanatic, I had a handful of them, and I also learned how to play with the dreidels, betting on the chocolate coins because college students are usually broke and shouldn’t be gambling money.
