Vancouver Sleep Clinic
As London makes many offers to occupy my time, I find myself playing catch up on my blogging. There has been a grand amount of excitement between the end of last week and through the weekend. Last Thursday, I saw one of my favorite sounds live: Vancouver Sleep Clinic. They are an extraordinary five-piece band from Brisbane, Australia. Their music is mystical, melodious, strong-hearted, and intriguing. I became fascinated with their sound about one year ago while living in Duluth. I am not quite sure how I stumble upon them, but I vaguely remember Shazaming a rad song from a film I saw. That must have been it. Anyway, I got to meet the band after the show and had a nice chat. They were genuine and truly cared to meet those who showed up. I am not any sort of fanatic when it comes to meeting artists, but I do hope I run into them again someday. I was in awe of their passion for the music and of their humble demeanor. They could not believe anyone showed up to the show, and I knew they’d sell out. In addition to being blown away by the music, I was impressed by the fact of meeting the band, from Australia, and two new friends, one from Thailand and the other London, all in one night. London is indeed a global city, and I am very happy to be a part of it.
