I am a senior majoring in communication and minoring in photography. The College of St. Scholastica has been a great place for me to be throughout my college journey. The Next Step

I leave for London in one month [plus a few days], I finish my undergraduate degree in December, and I officially walk with my class to graduate in May of 2017. Within the next year, I will choose the next step in my life. After high school, it was fairly easy for me. I either went to college or I didn’t, and I definitely wanted to go to college. So, here I am close to finishing my Bachelor of the Arts degree in Communication. I have no idea what my next step will be exactly, but I do have several ideas in mind. I know for sure I want to teach yoga in my life, in addition to the career I stumble upon. This means, I will need to complete a Yoga Teacher Training, and I am thinking of doing mine in Bali, Indonesia in the late winter/early spring. I also would love to continue my education further, but that may have to wait several years. Once I am ready to look for a job, I know I would like to settle either in Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles [somewhere where the opportunities will seem endless in the arts]. I hope to either work in publishing, film, photography, or the music industry. I may not know what career I will settle into eventually, but I do know that I want to be a part of bringing our human ideas to life in unique expressions such as writing, film, music, theatre, or art. Our society in general is learning through these mediums and adopting their values and ideas. I hope to be a part of creating or changing these messages. The College of St. Scholastica has most definitely given me the tools and confidence to do so.
