    Emily's Bio:
I am a senior majoring in communication and minoring in photography. The College of St. Scholastica has been a great place for me to be throughout my college journey. I am fascinated by the world and am currently studying abroad at Regent's University London in England. I live for the little things and the adventures I stumble upon everyday. In my free time I enjoy practicing yoga, listening to and writing music, taking pictures, and exploring.

The Medium is the Massage

My Media Criticism course, a requirement for all Communication majors, has proved to be one of the most interesting courses I have had the chance to take while here at CSS. I have always been interested in the media, whether it be music, books, writing, or film, and I have been able to dive deeper into the complexity of these media in this course. I have been made aware of the effect media really have on our society and the world.

I am currently reading The Medium is the Massage for the course, and, through it, I have found an even deeper appreciation for what I previously did not understand about the media. Although it was created over fifty years ago, it reads as being contemporary. It is an odd read, as it has more photographs than paragraphs, but I have found a liking for its uniqueness and what I have drawn from it.
