Staying Active
Staying active is something I enjoy and value quite a lot. However, with school, work, and all other things I’m involved in, it can be hard to find and take the time for exercise. I have found a few activities I like that also act as a form of exercise for me. Finding ways to stay active that I enjoy has really helped me maintain exercise in my busy schedule.
Rock climbing at the wall on campus has been a great way for me to stay active throughout my time at St. Scholastica, especially this semester; I’ve began climbing more often, again. I also really enjoy the practice of yoga. Yesterday morning, I had a couple of hours before my first class of the day and decided to head over to the Burns Wellness Center on campus to do some yoga. I will often capitalize on opportunities where I can be active outdoors. I’m interested in anything from snowshoeing, hiking, to skiing, and more.
Everyone maintains an active lifestyle in their own way, and Scholastica provides the facilities and opportunities to fit nearly any interest. There are fitness classes on campus including yoga, Zumba, strength training and more, workout equipment and a weight room at the BWC, basketball courts that have the ability to be used for tennis, volleyball, and soccer, intramural sports programs, and loads of outdoor opportunities through the student lead Outdoor Pursuit program.
