    Emily's Bio:
I am a senior majoring in communication and minoring in photography. The College of St. Scholastica has been a great place for me to be throughout my college journey. I am fascinated by the world and am currently studying abroad at Regent's University London in England. I live for the little things and the adventures I stumble upon everyday. In my free time I enjoy practicing yoga, listening to and writing music, taking pictures, and exploring.

SOARing Into Fall Semester

Today I wrapped up the SOAR program with my Outdoor Pursuit co-guides. We had a successful, busy, and eventful five days up the North Shore with our group of incoming freshmen.

HighFallsAD15

We explored the areas of the North Shore from Grand Marais to Palisade Head, camped in the Cascade River and Tettegouche State Parks, and bonded over our experiences in the wilderness.

This group of freshmen are a bunch I will never forget. From the moment they met, their connection as a whole was stronger than any I have witnessed in my participants before. It was a wonderful thing to see and be a part of as a leader. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with them and the chance to help them SOAR into college.

Aside from providing these new freshmen with opportunities to create lasting memories and friendships, I really enjoyed my time with nature. I was in a very calm and relaxing environment. This had a lot to do with the places we visited and the overall positive, energetic, and inclusive vibe of our group.

I look forward to keeping in touch with my participants and hearing about their journey at The College of St. Scholastica. I truly cannot say enough how special I feel to be a part of such an extraordinary group on campus.
