I Bought a Guitar in London

I most definitely bought a guitar in London. Music has brought such joy to my soul, and I knew I would not be able to live without it here. Just over two years ago now, I picked up my grandmother’s guitar for the first time with the intent of learning how to play; she had passed her instrument on to me as a gift. I began teaching myself simple chords and practices, and I rounded out my learning with a beginner’s course in guitar at The College of St. Scholastica in my fall semester of Sophomore studies. I learned more complex methods of the guitar and what the instrument was truly capable of. With my own motivation and the skill set gained from the course, I have been able to grow as a musician. From time to time I find myself writing a song, or at least trying. Without my course at CSS, I would not have learned many of the things I know now. And, without my guitar, I would be a little less happy. I am very thankful for my ability to play the guitar, and I plan to continue writing music and sharing what I know with others while I am here in London.
