Creative Collaborations
I have done some incredibly cool things in my Improvisations: Creative Collaborations course. My instructor, Anna Sullivan, is quite honestly one of the brightest, most motivated, caring, creative, and talented individuals I’ve had the chance to learn from, apart from my brilliant professors at The College of St. Scholastica. Anna is challenging me and my classmates with every exercise and assignment, and I love it. I am acting with people, who have become friends, from Holland, Italy, Germany, London, Texas, and beyond. One of my favorite assignments thus far has been the chair duet I choreographed with my friend Gyan. The exercise is rooted in trust, teamwork, and movement. We did this a couple weeks ago, but we have been rehearsing it again. We will be filming our chair duets this coming Tuesday to be posted on the college’s website. Gyan and I are very proud of the choreography we have created and wanted to take our performance to the next level: we will be wearing all black, as per usual for class, black lipstick, and our hair tied back tightly. The idea is that we are lifeless rag dolls who come to life and perform a beautiful dance together.
