Am I A Photographer?
I have always struggled to call myself a ‘photographer,’ because I feel as though that is a title that comes once you have reached a certain level of professionalism in photography. I simply say that I love to take pictures and that I love to capture the world through images of my own experience. Recently, since becoming involved as a Volunteer Photographer for Sofar Sounds London, I feel as though I am facing a more professional platform with my photography. The images I capture of these artists and the venues will be used as a means for advertising and promoting the organization. There is a sense of added pressure under these circumstances, but I would not exchange it for the world. I am endlessly grateful to The College of St. Scholastica for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow in photography. I love photography and taking photos, and it is something I will continue to do for as long as I love it, photographer or not.
