Currently, I am preparing three acting works. It is a new challenge for me, having to think about three different characters simultaneously. In my Acting for the Stage course, I am getting ready to perform a monologue this Friday. I am playing a Elizabeth, who is reflecting on her mother who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986. In addition to my monologue, I am also beginning to prepare a scene with my classmates Tyler and Jack. We will being doing a car scene from Fuddy Meers, and I will be playing Heidi. She is an individual who is in on a scheme where she pretends to be a cop. So, I will be playing a role that is also playing a role. Last of all, and something I am very excited about, I have begun rehearsals for the production Zara Spook and Other Lures, where I play Margery. I am so very excited about all of these experiences. I am developing a great liking for the art of acting, and I feel as though I am able to learn something new each time I approach a character. It is such a unique, inspiring, and strong form of communication. I enjoy having the chance to express a story, idea, or even parts of myself through a character.
