I am a senior majoring in communication and minoring in photography. The College of St. Scholastica has been a great place for me to be throughout my college journey. Acting for the Stage

As a communication major, I am required to complete an amount of CTA (Communication, Theatre, and Art) elective courses in order to graduate. This semester, I have chosen to take Acting for the Stage as one of my electives. We have only met twice, but we were already assigned a scene to begin working with a group from class.

I will be working together with two of my classmates on an open scene, which is a scene that does not have a lot of detail or specific character descriptions. With the open scene, we are given the chance to develop the piece organically as we interpret it; I am really excited about the experience. I have not acted since I was a lot younger, but I have always had a great appreciation for the art of stage, film, and TV acting. I’m really excited to see how our scene develops. And, as much as public speaking frightens me, I am really looking forward to our performance in front of the class next week.
