Finding Your Passion Through Volunteering

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Mentor Connection event that took place at the Kitchi Gammi Club. The place itself was quite interesting and the story behind it was even more fascinating. From the event what stood out the most for me was the advice we received from mentors in regards to finding time for your passions outside work. They mentioned that this could be done through volunteering opportunities. A couple professionals mentioned how sometimes their day to day tasks were not always aligned with what they are genuinely passionate for. It has been this that has actually motivated them to reach out to Duluth’s community. Some of them have searched for volunteering options related to the environment among other fields. It was reassuring to know that there are multiple ways in which you can still have time to do what makes you happy even when joining the workforce.
