Intro to Ethics
We had a pretty cool experiment yesterday in my ethics class. We were separated into groups and we had to take a quiz. We also had sitipulations to the quiz. We got randomized genders and eye colors. The blue eyes students had 15 minutes to take the quiz. Brown-eyes students got 10 and green eyed students got five. There was only 7 pens to go around, there were 8 students in each group. Also, only the men in the group could get desks to sit in. We had to find a way for everyone to be able to take the test and do it fairly. We had to make sure everyone could have a chance to have the rest. In class, we talked about how Utilitarians are always concerened with the happiness of all involved. The happiness here is that everyone eventually got to take the quiz. It was a great look into how Utilitarians work and think on a daily basis.
