Crossing Lines and Doing Time
I went to an eye-opening lecture last Thursday on people who go to prison for peaceful protest against war. The person who ran the lecture was Regal Rosalie. She talked about how she interviewed over 100 Catholic Workers to see how they were treated before going to jail, how they were supported by other members in the community in jail, and what life was like for them and their families during their time in jail. She was very passionate, telling us the CW’s that go to jail are conducting “Divine Obidience”. It’s in their duty to protest against any war.
