I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Weekend up in Duluth

The Sunday night was the last night of Bentleyville, so I took my best friend up to Duluth to show her the real Christmas spirit. Bentleyville USA is one of the biggest public light shows in the U.S. and it’s all put on by volunteers. It opens in November and goes until the end of December. The giant tree has lights synchronized with music and there was tons of cartoon characters created with the lights. Every so often, there’s little stops with free munchies and bonfires to keep you warm. And on Sunday, we definitely needed the warmth. Last Tuesday I went to Bentleyville and barely needed mittens. This time… I got frostbite on my poor ear. My little ear is recovering, but it was a wake up call to having to really bundle up on my walks to class in this upcoming January. If you’re not from Minnesota, frostbite is a legitimate thing and once you get it once, that part of your body becomes more susceptible to it again. I’ll have to wear hats or earmuffs for now on outside. Totally crazy! But overall, this weekend was fun and my best friend was super impressed with Duluth. She goes to school in the cities at another private college and was super impressed with my apartment and how home-like the building felt. Her favorite part of Duluth however was trying Pizza Luce! I can’t blame her!
