    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Student Teaching Placement

I got an email for my student teaching placement! I will be spending my next year in field and student teaching in 1st grade at Lowell Elementary! For those of you who don’t know, I am currently working with gifted and talented 4th grade at this school during their math time, as well as working at the after school program. I will be graduating next year and my goal is to teach 1st or kindergarten as a career, so this is all heading in great directions!

If you are a traditional Elementary Education major following the schedule schema, you will have Reading Methods your senior fall semester, then you student teach that following spring. The SOE tries to place you in the same class for both semesters, then you get to know the students as best as possible. I’m so excited!
