    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Should I Stay Here in the Summer?

Not having a lease anywhere in Duluth over the summer makes this question much bigger than if I lived off campus. Since I’m living on-campus this year and next, I don’t automatically have a lease most of May, June, July or August. While I work with Upward Bound, I get free room and board in the dorms. Which is awesome. However, during the rest of the summer if I want a place in Duluth, I’d have to sublease someone’s room or live on campus in the bricks. This year though, I think my decision is going to be easier because Res Life now offers discounted summer housing if you are taking summer courses. Not only at CSS can you be taking summer courses, but I could be taking summer courses online at Anoka-Ramsey back home too! Here is the housing pricing for the summer: http://css.edu/student-affairs/student-life/residential-life/summer-housing/css-student-summer-housing.html

I’m trying to debate since I’m taking 2 online accelerated classes this summer if I should stay in Duluth and work over the summer. This can be difficult to decide as well because I would pretty much breakeven and only be paying for my classes and housing and not have anything left over. I think I much rather just live at home in May, take my classes and a breather, and travel on a roadtrip somewhere with friends. Lots of things to consider.
