    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Off-Campus Work

During the summer time as we get older, people tend to stay in Duluth over the summer, like I’ve mentioned in earlier blog posts. Of course, this means usually that they need a job. There are so many on-campus jobs in the summer, however this post is going to focus on a lot of off-campus ones. There are so many opportunities off-campus that can be relevant to your future career. For example, I’ve been working at K.E.Y. Zone through the YMCA this summer. My friend also has been interning as a personal trainer for the Y. The YMCA itself has tons of opportunities available. They have marketing internships even. There’s lots of camp jobs too! The aquarium has internships as well as the zoo. If you’re not looking for a job specific to your major, you could simply just get a summer job in Canal Park. Grandma’s, a local franchise of restaurants, has a job fair every year. They hire waitresses, cooks, hosts, Vista Staff, Adventure Zone people, etc. I even know someone working for the scenic train that goes up to Gooseberry Falls. There are so many jobs in Duluth to go after.
