    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Grandma’s Weekend

Each year, Grandma’s Marathon happens in June. It’s ran by the Grandma’s franchise that pretty much owns every restaurant in canal. They own Little Angie’s, Grandma’s Sports Garden, Grandma’s Grill and Saloon, etc. So to give back to the community they’re so invested in, they have a marathon, half-marathon, and a 5K. People from all over go to Duluth for the events and let me tell you, it’s jam-packed. All of the hotels fill up and traffic is a nightmare. Lot of people go down to Canal just to watch that marathon, but a lot participate in the smaller events as locals anyway. Many people also volunteer for it. I’ve never gone down to Grandma’s and honestly I never plan to. Being in the traffic is just a little too much for me, so as I headed home on 35S tonight, I watched myself glide past the standstill traffic on 35N.
