    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Giving Tours

I’m a very part-time tour guide here at CSS. I’ve done 3 tours this week, 1 individual and then 2 large groups during an open house. Something I really love about tours is lately I’ve been getting assigned a lot of possible Education and Social Work majors. Because I know so much about both majors and they are very personal to me, I love giving students the informal, personal breakdown of life in that major. I love showing them the exact classrooms they’ll spend a lot of time, the professors’ little quirks that make them so approachable, etc. I know the course schema for Elementary Education almost of the back of my hand because I’ve gone through it all myself. I think providing little details about big assignments like the edTPA or how we do yoga in Visual & Performing Arts Methods makes us stand out to students. I plan to be a tour guide while student teaching as well so I’m looking forward to having more Education majors during that time, when I can really explain full circle what being in the program is like.
