    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

End of CSO

Today was the last day of 2016 (and my final year of) CSO. Right away in the morning we headed off to Enger Tower for some Parks & Rec work. Parks & Rec then split us back into our color groups and sent us to different parts of Skyline. Skyline Parkway is a long street with very scenic views of Lake Superior. It is very popularly traveled and in turn, gets a lot of garbage. Our job was to pick up garbage alongside the more residential section of Skyline. We did this for a few hours. After we came back, Parks & Rec weighed our garbage bags for a contest. One group had over a 100 lbs of garbage! It was so ridiculous. They also found multiple tires, dryers, etc. It sickens me that people would trash Duluth like that, but I guess that’s why we’re here, to counteract that issue.

After finishing up the awards and such, we took the freshman back to campus where they could join everyone else in orientation. It made me sad to see everyone go, but the nice thing about working with these freshman is that I know I’ll see them around campus!
