    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Camping Time

Late to be recent, but I still have to tell the story! The week before CSO, I drove up to Duluth to go camping with my boyfriend. We reserved a few weeks ago a camping spot up near Grand Marais, at Cascade River State Park. I’ve never been camping before, so I was pretty nervous, but at the same time it was my idea to go! I was just getting over a cold, so we cut our trip from two nights to just one. We had a good drive up the North Shore about 2 hours before we got to the camping ground, so we were pretty wiped. I let my boyfriend set up the tent while I napped in the car. When we decided to go check out Grand Marais for a little bit, he backed into a ditch! So we spent an hour trying to get help to get it out. Moral of that story, AAA has a hard time finding people close enough to that area and you may not get cell reception; be prepared! Once we got out we had an amazing time in Grand Marais and just sat by the water talking. In the morning we got to finally explore the park and the views were INCREDIBLE. I sadly don’t have any pictures because my phone had died. As you hike down the river, you realize it eventually leads straight out the lake. It literally is at lake level and so are you, it’s almost like an infinity pool into the lake. I will be going back this weekend and will take pictures! Overall it was a fun trip, and I’ve realized camping is an inexpensive way to see Minnesota. Next summer I will have lots more trips planned along the shore.
