    Courtney's Bio:
I'm an Elementary Education major at CSS. I also plan to minor in Spanish. Having done PSEO, I came to CSS with more than 60 credits. I'm part of Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), and other clubs! Dance has been part of my life for 10 years, and now I'm trying to fit it into my schedule again. I love spending time watching Supernatural and Once Upon a Time, and reading Harry Potter and other great books. I live in a suite with 3 other girls, and we are always finding something fun to do around campus!

Art Room Life

So since Monday, I’ve spent 12 hours in the art room. That’s more time than I spend at my work study each week. My professor assigned us last minute paintings and expects two paintings in the next two weeks, one due tomorrow and one due next Thursday. I’m super nervous about my second once because it’s a self portrait. Not just any self portrait, but has to show something people know and don’t know about you. I’m painting a monochromatic purple portrait of myself and incorporating a hidden Mickey, representing my love of Disney. I’m just so nervous I won’t get it done. Luckily, I’ve had my weekends free to get started on these paintings. I don’t think I can do anymore 8-midnight painting. The art room at CSS is open 24/7 and anyone is welcome regardless of if they’re taking an art class or not. It is kind of creepy alone, but that’s why we have Open Art Studio Nights every other Thursday! A bunch of us get together, eat snacks, and talk about how much longer our paintings are going to take. I love the art group here at CSS!
