Hello hello, my name is Chey! I fully admit that I am an over achiever and a slacker simultaneously. I am really involved in social justice on campus, especially the Indigenous Student Alliance. I love cats and science fiction. I come from a big family so community and connections are important to me.

Contemplation and Thankfulness

It’s that time of year where finals week seems to be rushing at us students. Whether mid-terms were stressful or not, there is always an increase in pace for classes during this time. I find myself rushing through my day, from work to class to club meetings. While storming through Tower Hall on my way to the library to grab a book for a paper, I was struck by how beautiful the hallway was. I don’t often stop and enjoy the scenery on campus, but when I do it is a grounding experience.

The month of November is many things and I know I will be busy but I want to take time each day to appreciate the small things. I always participate in the Thankfulness exercise where you list at least one thing you are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving. So for day 1 of 24, I am thankful that I have the ability to attend a college with such a beautiful campus.
