Puppy
I am not sure whether the obsession with puppies is a Minnesota thing, it has been becoming a more of a thing in the western world during the last few years, or I’m simply growing into a point in my life where they are more relevant, but infatuation with puppies is very real around me–and it is permeating to me. Schools (St. Scholastica, among them) are embracing the idea of therapy dogs, and it is very socially acceptable in our society to stop and overtly stare at puppies we see in the street. Recently, my ex-boss bought a puppy. She is (needless to say) adorable, and she needs a place to stay while my ex-boss works at school during the day. She offered me to take care of her puppy a couple of hours one or two times a week at my convenience, and I accepted. I love that St. Scholastica’s ambiance is so familiar that faculty and staff feel comfortable doing these things. I love playing with the puppy, too.
