    Conrado's Bio:
Born and raised in urban Madrid, lived in rural northern California and ended up in snowy suburban Minnesota. During the school year you'll find me firmly entrenched in a routine designed to develop my Psychology research skills, and during the summer you will probably not find me at all; in my free time, I enjoy going on trekking trips in the backcountry, adventuring through recondite countries and most importantly spending time with my family.

Packing up!

One of the most shocking things I’ve experienced in the US as an international student is how quickly they kick you out of the dorms after you finish finals. This is the third time I experience it, and I still don’t get used to it. The worst part is that it seems to be common practice, and the fact that they charge you significantly to stay additional nights is only more aggravating.

But so it goes, and so we adapt. On Thursday I turned in my last final paper and helped someone move out. On Friday—move out deadline—, I worked from the moment I woke up until I got on a shuttle to Minneapolis at midnight. Packing up all of your belongings, cleaning the room, and throwing away all the things your roommates ‘forgot’ in the apartment (as well as cleaning), takes a while. Add transporting the stuff you are leaving on campus until fall (the OIP was kind enough to organize summer storage options for international students) and you have a very packed day indeed.
