Learning Outcomes Assessment
As part of the psychology curriculum, every psychology student must take PSY 4000: Learning Outcomes Assessment during his or her last semester. Because I am graduating this December, I signed up for mine last semester to take it now. You must register for the class and complete an assessment to graduate, but it is neither a class nor the assessment counts towards your grade. More than to assess you, this ‘course’ is designed to assess the curriculum. Professors use the results to gauge the effectiveness of the program. I took mine today, and it was super mellow! It took less than one hour to complete, and it primarily asked reasoning questions about statistics and research methods, and survey questions about my perspective of the curriculum as a whole. Overall, a rather fun ‘exam’!
