Commencement

Friday, May 11th, 2018

Hey y’all! Late night blog post, mostly because I have been so busy and forgot that I should probably get one of my last blogs in!! Tomorrow is commencement and then I’m moving out on Sunday so it will be a busy weekend for me! Commencement occurs at the DECC down in canal and will be at 2pm. It’s first come, first serve for seating, but there is obviously enough seating in the whole place for everyone. It will be an eventful day with picture taking and hanging out with family and friends. Then, like I said, Sunday I am moving out. My family will be coming up again to help me so that will be good. Also, I’m mostly packed, so hopefully everything goes smoothly! Happy Graduation Seniors!!!

Last First Friday Donuts

Friday, May 4th, 2018

Student Senate is so generous and gives away FREE donuts the first Friday of every month.  Personally, I can’t eat donuts, but I know that some people live for the first Friday donuts.  I’m blogging while looking into their office, which is located in Storms Den.  They have boxes on boxes of donuts right now, and people keep filtering through.  I think that they also provide cookies and other sorts of breakfast treats, but it’s such a good idea.  I have some friends that are on Student Senate, and they really love being a representation of the student body.  They have a say in where some of the budgeting goes, some events that occur, and honestly I don’t really know what else.  If you are a donut person, I suggest you hurry to the Student Senate office because they are being eaten like crazy!!

Graduation

Tuesday, May 1st, 2018

Well as scary as it is to say, Graduation is already next Saturday!! I have been so excited about my new job and new life that will be beginning that I never really thought about all the scary things that are ahead of me.  For one, I’m really sad to be leaving my friends that I have grown so close with.  All of them will be in school for the next two years, and I’m not really sure where life will take me by that point.  Also, I will just be in a new place with new people, which is a scary thought.  I’m a fairly friendly person, but it is always intimidating having to find new friends.  There are a lot of things to look forward to in the next two weeks, but also a lot of weird changes will be happening.  Stay tuned for updates!!!

Rainy Days

Friday, April 27th, 2018

Finally, for once, I’m excited about having a rainy day.  Although I am starting to either get sick or have allergies, I really miss having the dreary rainy days.  For the longest time, I thought it was going to keep snowing and snowing, but I think we have finally reached the breaking point for snow.  Also, yesterday I blogged about the Superior Oil Refinery explosion, and I wanted to update and say that there were evacuations in Superior, and CSS actually hosted all of the UWS students last night!! I think that it’s so great that our school is a safe point for them, and we were very hospitable about letting students in here for a night. As of this morning, the evacuation has been lifted and the air quality is okay, so that must mean that things are controlled again.  Tonight is Johnny Holm and that is the live concert in the Reif, so that should be super fun!!! Overall, there is a lot going on as we are approaching the end of the year, but lots to look forward to!

KQDS Radio Volleyball Game

Wednesday, April 18th, 2018

I’m sharing this post because my Volleyball Coach insists on having people know about it.  Each year, employees of the KQDS Radio Crew come to CSS and play us in volleyball.  This always happens during our Spring Season, and it will be happening tomorrow!! I’m honestly not really sure where this event ever came up, but it’s very relaxed and fun.  I think they broadcast some of the event as a joke and to help promote CSS Volleyball, and honestly it’s just a really good time.  The CSS Volleyball team is asking that anyone that wants to come and watch or hang out with us brings a non-perishable food item with them to help donate to the Food Shelf.  They are in luck because I have a bunch of canned food that I think I’ll give away, mostly because I don’t really eat it like I used to.  It will all be for a good cause, so if you are like me and have some food to get rid of, bring it on over (might as well watch some vball while you’re at it, too)!!
