Honestly, just when you think that the weather is starting to turn around and become nice again, think again.  We have had some pretty great weather in Duluth recently, and it’s bumming me out about how much snow we are getting currently.  Yesterday I would say we got around 4-6 inches, and it supposed to continue today and a little bit tomorrow even.  I hope that everyone else (besides the skiers) are wishing for the snow to just get gone, but maybe I’m the only one.  I don’t mind having 30-40 degree weather, but I can’t seem to appreciate the loads of snow we get at this time of the year.  Technically in about a month and a day it’s the first day of spring, so mother nature better start that transition so it happens!!! Drive safe everyone, leave early and please please don’t be a silly driver!!!

Losing Things

Thursday, February 15th, 2018

Usually I am someone who really has their life put together and figured out.  I’m very organized and clean as well.  Well recently, I have really been struggling with everything in my life for some reason.  Last week I got a flat tire and also lost my house keys.  Today I misplaced one of my most favorite gloves, and only one of them to be very clear.  I am awfully flustered and I don’t really know what’s wrong with me.  I don’t really have any other distractions in my life right now, so I guess I’m confused as to why all of these things are happening.  I don’t really know if it’s a sign from the gods that I should slow down my life a little bit or what.  The only thing I can think of is that I have been pretty busy recently, so maybe I’m not paying attention to the little details in life.  All I hope is that my life starts to turn around a little bit soon!!!

Valentine’s Day

Wednesday, February 14th, 2018

Well Student Senate is the cutest because they gave all students (and staff maybe) candy bars for Valentine’s Day!! The past two years I haven’t really gotten my favorite candy bar, but this year I did so YAY ME!! I have seen a ton of people posting about their significant others and the variety of gifts or fancy dinners that they have been on.  My heart is just melting while I sit in my bed and continue to update my social media feed.  Other than it being Valentine’s Day, it is also Ash Wednesday.  I (as well as some of my friends) will be going to church at The Vineyard for a service.  I’m excited to go and get the ashes on my forehead.  I also saw a bunch of people that must have gone to an afternoon mass or service because they had crosses on their foreheads.  It’s quite the day, and I forgot to mention that it’s around 40 degrees outside too!!!

Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow already!! I don’t remember the last Valentine’s Day that I actually spent with a significant other, but I’m not all that upset about it either.  I don’t have enough time in my life to be in a relationship.  I would much rather spend my free time doing things that I like to do or hanging out with my close friends.  On Valentine’s Day, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have games at 5:30 and 7:30 I believe.  I think that it would be really fun to get a crowd to their game, although I understand that couples might want to spend the time with their significant others.  Also, this year Valentine’s Day is also Ash Wednesday, so that’s kind of cool.  I will be going to church at the Vineyard to a service at either 5:30 or 7:30 and then maybe I will go to the basketball game after that.  It’s another busy week for me!!

Tonight was yet another CHOICES Event night, called Choose Kindness with CHOICES.  It was hosted by the Volleyball and Football teams on campus.  This event was designed to focus students around random acts of kindness and simply being good people.  There were a variety of stations that were set up around Storms and the football and volleyball players helped lead each station.  It seemed to be super fun for the people who came and there was quite a large turnout!! I meant to blog before the event, but I was pretty busy running errands before this event so that everything would go smoothly.  To stay tuned with other events coming up, pay attention to student community emails and also the Saints Life Calendar!! There are tons of events hosted all the time, not just by CHOICES and those are two great ways to get involved!!!
