With the title, the women hold the number one seed for the tournament championship, hosting both games at home if they advance to the finals. Athletic Trainers

Thursday, October 10th, 2019

The athletic trainers available for student-athletes at The College of St. Scholastica are second to none. All athletes are able to utilize the athletic trainers on campus located in the Benedictine Health Center. They are available to diagnose and treat injuries sports related, as well as help work with athletes to prevent injury. I currently am seeing the trainers for ankle rehab, and I could not be happier with the treatment. They are amazing people and very knowledgeable at their job. If you are a prospective athlete, know that the great training staff here have your back in case you do get injured. Students who are in St. Scholastica’s grad school athletic training program are also often in the training room doing internships and shadowing, which I think is great for their learning!

Indoor Tennis?

Saturday, September 28th, 2019

Who knew that you could play tennis at CSS? I am a senior, and I had no clue. I’ve always heard from the tennis players that they train at UMD (University of Minnesota, Duluth–less than a mile away), but apparently you can ask the workers at the front desk in the gym to borrow some tennis rackets, and as long as the court is available (might be difficult to organize during the weekdays, but they said during the weekend they were usually free), they can set up a net and anyone with a CSS ID can play tennis in one of the courts at the gym! Very neat. I will definitely be making use of that sometime soon!

Women’s Soccer Wins

Monday, September 23rd, 2019

The College of St. Scholastica Women’s soccer team upset Augsburg with a score of 2 to 1 Sunday afternoon. The non-conference match up was held at Saint’s Field at the Duluth campus. Augsburg came in with the better record, but the Saints left victorious. Augsburg scored early in the first half, but the Saints would be the only scorers in the rest of the game. The first goal came as a penalty kick after the keeper pushed the Saint’t player down. The second, and game winning goal, came as a cross into the box and our player sent it into the back of the net. It was an extremely exciting and intense game. Your Saints are home again tomorrow against Macalaster College. Come support your women’s soccer team; we love when the stands are packed!
