    Brandon's Bio:
My major is on the left, but it’s taken me six major changes, two minor changes and three graduate-track changes to get there. I’m from a small farming town west of the Twin Cities and came to Duluth for the city and stayed for the school. I work at the Burns Wellness Center at the front desk and have pretty much the best job in the world. I like to take any opportunity thrown at me, and since coming here I’ve been thrown plenty. Life’s an adventure, and so is CSS!

Friday the 13th

So everyone knows in one way or another the superstition surround Friday the 13th. And, well, today is that day! So curiosity got to me today, and I decided to to learn a little bit more about this elusive day. A fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia. Friday the 13th can occur between one and three times a year depending on leap year. Another fun fact about Friday the 13th, is that in the past 400 years, the 13th of the month has fallen on a Friday more than any other day. A few notable people in history have also met their end on this day, including the famous rapper Tupac and the United States Vice President from Minnesota Hubert Humphrey. Personally, I’ve always had good luck on this day! I don’t even know why I’m saying this on my blog, but my first kiss occurred on Friday the 13th! Touching, I know. But my luck doesn’t stand alone! A research study done in the Netherlands showed that car accident occurrences are much less frequent on Friday the 13th. So whether or not you believe in the superstition surrounding this day, now you are just a little bit more informed! Happy Friday!
