A blast from my mother’s past.
So much has happened! After visiting ‘Heaven Mountain,’ the second-highest elevation point in Denmark with the Friis family on Monday, I was asked to visit Nynne’s (their daughter) class. I did that yesterday, and Oh. My. Gosh! I was the celebrity there! Everyone was prying to get a peek at the American and it did feel cool. When I was 13 like them, foreigners would come and visit my class, and after doing exactly that in another country, I definitely felt like it was a full-circle moment. It was easily one of the most gratifying moments of my entire life. Afterwards we had dinner with Lisbeth’s parents, the family my mother stayed with when she lived in Denmark, who I decided to go with to stay in Aalborg. I was amazed by how close I got with their family in such a short time, and was extremely sad to leave… but my adventure must go on. I would love to stay with them longer, but I’d regret not seeing as many places if I did so. I still am just in awe at the kindness of these people, it’s like nothing I’ve seen before. I’ve been looking around at flights and such and I’ve decided to go to Oslo, Norway and most likely Bergen, Norway while I’m there. I’ve heard Bergen is one of the most beautiful cities in Norway. So naturally, I need to go!
