Beauty Around Every Turn

After the first three years of my time here at St. Scholastica, I have come to the realization that I have made the right choice in every turn when it has come to my education. My first three years as a student I spent my time living on campus between Somer’s Hall as a freshmen and Scanlon Hall as a sophomore and junior. While I enjoyed every minute of campus life and campus living it is quite a treat to be in a house with four of my best friends, experiencing off-campus living and commuting. The drive from my house to the college currently takes me through Observation Rd., overlooking downtown Duluth, Superior, and the Great Lake we all know and love, Lake Superior. As I continue my voyage to class every day, I make my way past the beautiful copper-top church and can view the North Shore as I edge closer and closer to camps. Finally as I turn into the front entrance every day, I am reminded of the subtle beauty our wonderful campus has with the wonderful flower beds as well as the iconic bridge and the beautiful creek flowing underneath. The two towers that reach high above the hill are just a final reminder that I am where I belong as that view holds memories that will last a lifetime and friendships made within their walls will last forever. So today I am grateful, I am thankful, but most of all I am home. Have a wonderful, blessed week.

The picture below was taken during Discover Duluth 2015, representing students around Minneapolis and St. Paul and their surrounding areas, and just one more reason that I love to call this place my school and Duluth my home.
