Setting Goals

Before every semester, a few days before it begins, I try my best to set up short-term goals to achieve by the end of the term. The goals can vary from academics to involvement. During every semester, there are ups and downs. Sometimes I may not get the score I want on a test or maybe I exceed my expectations. Whenever I am at my lowest, I like to look back at the goals I have written down in a notebook and become much more motivated to complete them. Likewise, whenever I am at my highest, I enjoy looking back at the notebook and become much more excited to finish strong. This technique has helped me a lot at CSS. There are many things to do in Duluth and it’s beneficial to self-motivate yourself to complete wherever you want to accomplish. When I write my goals, my priorities are based on academics such as a reaching a semester grade or getting a grade for a course based on your major. Other goals I have written down and accomplished are being involved in a certain club, earning an internship, days and times to go to the gym, eating habits, visiting a Duluth site, networking and much more. It is important to go into each semester with a right mindset. By going to a semester without any goals to reach, one can find it very difficult to get the full experience of what CSS can truly offer.
