Semester Club Budgeting

Saint Scholastica offers many different clubs for students to join. I love to be involved in the clubs because it is very beneficial to my learning. Generally speaking, clubs are required to ask senate for a certain amount of money for an event to be held within the club. Every Sunday, a student leader from the club presents to senate why the money should be granted. For the Spring Semester, the system slightly changed. Student leaders are required to budget the money depending on how many events will be held for the entire semester. The clubs will be given a one-time lump-sum at the beginning of the semester where they can budget it accordingly. This winter break, I have been gathering information for the events that will be held. This means, I need to know what the event will consist of, when it will be held, and an approximation of who will attend. As a treasurer, my role is to request a right amount of money from the student body senate so that the events can run perfectly. I actually enjoy this role. It’s very interesting and great practice for my majors.
