Casino Night
Last night, boy’s soccer team and hockey team hosted a very successful event. For the first time ever, athletes are hosting events to promote sober parties. UMAC, the conference for upper midwest sport’s division, along with the clean program set up a casino event where the soccer and hockey boys volunteered throughout the night from 9pm to 1am. Fake money was distributed to students. Each student received $25 and could use the money in Blackjack, Texas Hold Em’, and Roulette. The purpose was to get as much money as possible in order to exchange $10 for a raffle ticket for several prizes. Prizes ranged from a 32 inch tv to saints gear. I started off the night as a cashier just making stacks of $25. I then became a dealer for blackjack since it is the only card game I am familiar with. Other roles included being a “bar tender” serving mixed non-alcoholic drinks, distributing appetizers and greeting the participants. Oh yeah, the soccer team and hockey team were required to dress up professionally. Overall, very fun experience.
