Busy weekend
I am excited about the work I finished this weekend. I have two huge projects to turn and two exams to study for. My goal for this weekend was to finish the two big projects and not worry about anything else besides studying. The first big project I finished was one for Quantitative Methods. I forecasted the unemployment rate for the end of May and the average unemployment rate for the year of 2018. I used a moving average to forecast with unemployment numbers for every month since 2007. The project was very interesting and I had a lot of fun doing it. I use the software QM to get the most accurate unemployment rate.
My other huge project is using SPSS for my statistics course. I ran a total of 9 different test to test effects, correlation, and the relationship of % of U.S. territories below poverty in 2008. Through this SPSS assignment, I found many interesting findings. The most surprising finding was seeing that there was a significance when comparing the %below poverty rates in 2008 with divorce rates at different times through the one-way ANOVA and the related samples ANOVA. It was also interesting to see how homicide and poverty were related in the correlation and regression tests. After focusing on the topic of poverty and seeing, through these tests, that it has significant relationships with other similar topics, I was able to see a greater importance for reaching a solution to this social justice issue.
