Accounting and Auditing Student Conference

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the 20th annual accounting and auditing student conference at the convention center. The conference was open to all students from all years in school even if your major isn’t accounting. About thirteen CSS accounting majors signed up and drove down to Minneapolis along with 4 professors. We left campus at 7am to arrive at the conference at 9:30 am. We registered and then we all separated to visit the exhibition where many accounting firms offered knowledge along with graduate universities and accounting certification companies. In addition, there were several events during the day such as resume and interview tips, a panel of accounting describing their job roles and offering advice, CPA exam updates information and much more. The conference ended at about 3:30 pm and students were given gifts at the end. about 10 out of the 13 CSS students won prizes!!! I won a blanket from U.S. Bank. Others won gift cards!! The best prize of the day was a Becker review for the CPA exam. The prize is worth $3400 and it was given to one our students! it was a lucky day for us!
