    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Woohoo! Happy Friday!

What’s in store for the weekend? Here are some fun ideas to get you going:

  • Love to act or take part in musicals?

The Duluth Playhouse has an open house taking place on Saturday from 10:00-11:00, where students can check out upcoming performing arts classes and talk with instructors.  Discounts are available for those who attend! (230 W. Superior St)

  • See a beautiful blending of music and dance!

UMD is hosting a live concert “The Percussion Project” on Saturday evening at 7:30 in the Marshall Performing Arts Center.  It is open to all (there is a small fee for admission), and is friendly for all ages.

  • Art showing

Local artists Sarah Nordlund and Phil Anderson will be having an art opening at Lake Ave Cafe tonight at 6:00.  Food, wine, and live music performances will accompany their fantastic artwork.

Hermantown’s Corn Maze Festival takes place tomorrow beginning at 9:00 am at Engwall Florist and Garden Center on Hermantown Rd.  Fall foods, pumpkin painting, hay maze, and bonfire!

Where will I be?  Well, I will be in the Twin Cities enjoying a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception for my favorite cousin.  It sure promises to be an awesome weekend.  ENJOY!
