    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Well, today should be a relief compared to yesterday!  I spent upwards of eight hours working on planning some of my lessons for teaching (for my tpa, more specifically), and let me tell you, I have never felt more stressed or exhausted.  I cannot wait to just have a regular day of school today and hang out with my little ones!  We are doing a lesson today on Valentine’s Day, but instead of learning about the traditions that we have for Valentine’s in the United States, we are going to get a chance to talk about all of the traditions that are celebrated in other countries!  I am really excited to see their reactions to some of the cultural and ethnic differences that exist around our world and how there is no “right” or “wrong” way to celebrate our holidays.

Then, tonight is our final day of conferences for winter.  Yay!  I can’t wait to get these checked off of our list of things to do.  It should be a fantastic group of conferences, though.  The parents from this class are phenomenal and I am so blessed to get to work with each and every one of them in strengthening their student’s learning.  They are so willing to help, understand and are supportive of our approaches in the classroom, and recognize how important it is that their children build and work on their skills not only in school but also at home (which is a huge benefit from having such on-board parents!).  I am looking forward to meeting them.

Afterwards, I am thinking that getting a little rest may be a good idea.  I have been going hard on work the last couple of days, and I just feel overworked…and not even paid! haha.  A little r and r may be just what I need.
